About Claire

Life is full of twists and turns that in turn lead to decisions, which make up our mortal lives. Somewhere along the line I chose to become a writer, and so right now I am working toward a bachelor's degree in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing. I also enjoy singing, which is what I spend another good portion of my time doing. Eventually I hope to be fluent in not only English, but also Spanish, Portuguese, and ASL. If I pick up any other languages along the way that would be great as well.

At this point in life I am taking things one step at a time, and just seeing where I end up. So much is up in the air that it's hard to say for sure where I'll be in a year. However, I hope to be married with kids of my own in ten years. And I hope that I will have traveled quite a bit between now and then. I really love Mexico and Portugal and hope to travel to both places one day. I also love Scotland, Ireland, and Britain and would love to visit those places someday as well.

I have this running joke with my best friend Meg (who is obsessed with Korean culture) that she will one day visit there and forget to come home. This of course means I will need to fly out there to see her and convince her to come home. However, as she will probably convince me to forget to come home as well, I am currently looking for the person who won't be convinced to forget to come home, so that I will remember to come home and bring Meg with me. If you know of anyone who can be trusted with this most critical of tasks, I would greatly appreciate you sending them my way.

I would like to say I am a feminist. However, you will find that I am probably somewhere in the middle, as I am in most things. I don't believe in taking things to the extreme, as the middle is most often the best position. I have been seen as un-American. But that is simply because I don't care enough to pay attention to anything outside my little make-believe world. If it doesn't interest me it isn't of use to me and therefore isn't worth my time. However, if someone posts an article on facebook or sends it to me I will most likely read it and have an opinion if you care to ask.

I hate arguing or debating (there is a difference), therefore I will go out of my way to stay away from such things. But more often than not I do have an opinion, I just don't feel the need to tell everyone my opinion and let them tear it apart. I have my reasons for believing what I believe. If you wish to convince me your opinion is more right, I suggest you gather the evidence and write an essay for me to read which is well-structured and can stand up to a grammar nazi. Otherwise you aren't likely to sway me in any other direction.
